iGaming payment gateways: questions before integration

A checklist for deposits, withdrawals, webhooks, reconciliation and responsibilities between iGaming platforms and payment providers.

01 / 05

Map both journeys

Deposits and withdrawals are different operations. For each, document who starts the request, which provider processes it, what identifiers connect it to the account and when its status changes. Show the approved, pending, failed and under-review experiences. Receiving payments alone does not prove that withdrawals are authorized or validated for the same customer.

02 / 05

Define the source of truth

Reliable reconciliation connects the request, gateway operation, received events and internal records. Ask what happens when a webhook arrives twice, out of order or not at all. How are differences between the panel and provider found? Which records reconstruct the history? The flow should support traceable review and controlled correction, without invisible manual balance changes.

03 / 05

Confirm integration coverage

An image showing Pix, cards or a digital wallet represents an interface possibility, not an enabled contract. Check availability by method, geography, fees, limits, settlement times, credentials and validation stages. Confirm who maintains the integration and handles provider API changes. Record approved terms in the scope for each operation and payment method.

04 / 05

Design for failures and support

Test provider outages, timeouts, duplicate responses, cancellations, reversals where applicable and user complaints. Define alerts, error logs, support queues and clear status messages. The team needs to know when to wait for confirmation, investigate or contact the gateway. Discuss these scenarios before launch instead of discovering them during operation.

05 / 05

Validate before release

Request a test environment and a plan covering success, pending and failure states for both incoming and outgoing payments. Confirm permissions, authentication, data protection, reconciliation and acceptance criteria. Review responsibilities jointly with the platform, provider and operator. A good proposal identifies the flows to be delivered and those requiring third-party approval.
